As soon as the conditions will allow there will be exams in Budapest too. However, we ask for your understanding that due to the previous closure of the examination room, the current applicable requirements of the Health Authorities and the high current demand, a longer waiting period for appointments may occur. Furthermore, we have to inform you that the procedure for the exams had to be changed to comply with the new rules and regulations of Austro Control, set out in compliance with the use of the new app. We kindly aks you to use the following application page to register yourself:

Please note that we can only accept candidates, who have registered themselves via the mentioned webpage and have informed us precisely about the subjects to be taken on the specific day.

The following guidelines apply in any case to all examinations taking place and are mandatory for all candidates:

See you all of you very soon!

Dear All,

From the beginning of April there will be changes in the examination procedures that we will share with you here. We kindly ask everyone to check back from time to time to keep up to date with the latest information.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

With reference to the constant changes and restrictions in connection with the outbreak of Covid-19, we would like to inform you about the current developments regarding our examination centres. Austro Control has submitted to EASA an “Exemption” based on Article 71(1), which we would like to add accordingly:

The content of this “exemption” is an exception in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 Art 71 (1) to prevent negative consequences for civil aviation due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated restrictions on individual freedom. This automatically extends by 4 months all deadlines set out in Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011, Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014 Annex III and Regulation (EU) 2015/340 and implementing acts adopted on the basis thereof, which expire within 4 months of the entry into force of this derogation.

As a result, all candidates who would have had the 18-month period to complete the theory test within the next four months will benefit from an automatic extension for a further four months. Should candidates continue to be affected by restrictions after this period, we will evaluate this and, if necessary, extend the period accordingly. All other affected deadlines will also be extended accordingly by the aforementioned period.

Furthermore, we are currently together with EASA evaluating the possibilities of compensating for an eventually longer-term cancellation of examination events and will inform you of any opportunities that arise.

We wish all our partners a soon end to the crisis and that we will see each other again in good health.

Dear Candidates,

Unfortunately, we have to inform you, that due to the COVID-19 outbreak we actually decided in consultation with Austro Control to cancel the 30-31 March theory exam in Budapest.

Since ensuring the health of every single person has absolute priority, we want to wait for further measures and have decided to cancel the mentioned event. We hope that the situation will soon be better under control and that we will soon return to normal testing operations. At the moment only the examination in March is affected by the cancellation.

Austro Control has assured us that the 18 month period will be agreed in consultation with EASA and that there will be a solution.

Furthermore who already took the exam in March will not loose the option to continue the same sitting.

Thank you all for your understanding and please follow our info page on our website for further information about the upcoming exams: Exam news

Dear Everybody!

Obviously, you are all aware of the current health situation and the actions taken by different countries. Unfortunately, these include the fact that Austro Control immediately ceased its examination in Austria and no decision has yet been taken on whether examination centers outside Austria can continue or have their activities suspended.
We ask everyone to wait patiently for the decision to be made and to publish it.

Unfortunately, the Budapest exam at the end of March will not be held, but we will try to host the exam in Szeged at the same time.

Discussions are also ongoing on how to calculate the 18 months in this case, but it is up to EASA to decide, so we cannot say for sure until they give guidance.

If we can take the exam at the time originally scheduled for the end of March, there are a few precautions to take, which include:

  • a minimum distance of 1 meter (both inside and outside the exam room)
  • avoid physical contact (handshake,…)
  • after proper disinfection of the hands may an examinee enter to the examination room
  • a maximum of 12 examinees may be present at the same time
  • everyone should wear mask
  • if an examinee shows signs of illness, he / she must leave the building immediately and seek medical advice as soon as possible to protect his / her and other’s health

Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation.

We wish everyone good health and hope to see you again in the exams soon.

Coming soon with the latest news…
